v0.5 — Achievements, Market Events & a Lot of Polish

Hey everyone — first devlog for TickrBoom. The game has come a long way in the past few weeks so I wanted to document where things stand.

What is TickrBoom? A stock market dice game inspired by the classic 1970s board game Stock Ticker. You buy and sell commodities, roll dice to move prices, and race to become a billionaire. Simple to pick up, surprisingly hard to put down.

What's new in v0.5:

Market Events — Every 5–8 rolls a Breaking News event fires and shakes up the market. Bull runs, sector crashes, government bailouts, mega mergers. The market now feels alive instead of purely random.

Achievements — 20 achievements across four categories (Wealth, Trading, Survival, and five secret ones). They persist across sessions and unlock with a toast notification mid-game. Try to find them all.

Inline Help — Added zero-friction contextual help throughout the game. Tap any status badge (DANGER, YIELD, SPLIT WATCH) for a plain-English explanation. A dice cheat sheet, price bar labels, and score explainer are also tucked in for new players.

Four Game Modes — Free Play, Sprint (fixed rolls), Timed (5 minutes), and Daily Challenge (same seeded rolls for everyone, once per day).

What's next: Portal submissions to Arkadium and CrazyGames are coming up. After that, a leaderboard system.
