TickrBOOM
TickrBoom is a fast, addictive stock market dice game inspired by the classic 1970s board game Stock Ticker. Roll the dice. Watch prices swing. Buy low, sell high. Don't get wiped out.
Six commodities — Gold, Silver, Oil, Bonds, Industrials, and Grain — trade in real time as the dice decide their fate. A stock can split and double your shares. It can crash and take everything. The market doesn't care about your feelings.
Game Modes:
- Free Play — No limits. Race to billionaire status at your own pace.
- Sprint — Fixed number of rolls. Highest net worth when the dice run out wins.
- Timed — 5 minutes on the clock. How far can you get?
- Daily Challenge — One attempt per day. Same market conditions for everyone. Compare your result.
Breaking News — Random market events fire mid-game. A government stimulus package lifts all stocks. An oil spill tanks crude prices. A mining strike hammers silver. React fast or pay the price.
Three difficulty levels affect your starting cash and score multiplier — the harder you start, the more your result is worth.
If you remember Stock Ticker from family game nights, this is that feeling — now in your browser, any time, no board required.
HOW TO PLAY
The Goal Grow your net worth from your starting cash to $1 Billion. Buy commodities when prices are low, sell when they're high, and survive whatever the market throws at you.
The Core Loop Each turn, press ROLL. Three dice decide what happens next — one picks the commodity, one picks the action (Up, Down, or Dividend), and one picks the amount. Prices move automatically. Then it's your turn to trade before the next roll.
The Six Commodities
| Commodity | Ticker |
|---|---|
| Gold | GOLD |
| Silver | SLVR |
| Oil | OIL |
| Bonds | BNDS |
| Industrials | IND |
| Grain | GRN |
All commodities start at $1.00 and move up or down based on dice rolls.
The Three Dice Actions
- UP — The commodity's price rises by the amount shown (5¢, 10¢, or 20¢)
- DOWN — The commodity's price falls by the same
- DIVIDEND — If the commodity is trading above $1.00 and you own shares, you receive a cash payout per share. Below $1.00, no payout.
Splits and Crashes
These are the two big events that define the game:
- Split — When a commodity hits $2.00, it splits. The price resets to $1.00 and your share count doubles instantly. This is how serious wealth gets built.
- Crash — When a commodity hits $0.00, it crashes. The price resets to $1.00 but you lose every share you owned. This is how wealth disappears.
Watch the price bar on each stock card — it fills as the price climbs toward $2.00. Green glow means a split is close. Red glow means a crash is approaching.
Breaking News Events Every 5–8 rolls, a market event fires. These affect prices beyond the normal dice result — sometimes helping, sometimes hurting, sometimes both at once. Examples:
- Bull Market Rally — All commodities rise
- Oil Spill Disaster — Oil drops sharply
- Government Stimulus — Broad market boost
- Mining Strike — Silver takes a hit
- Insider Trading Scandal — One commodity crashes instantly
React quickly. Events don't wait.
Difficulty & Scoring
| Difficulty | Starting Cash | Score Multiplier |
|---|---|---|
| Hard | $5,000 | 5x |
| Normal | $25,000 | 2x |
| Easy | $100,000 | 1x |
Your score is your net worth multiplied by your difficulty bonus. Starting with less cash is harder — but worth more.
Tips for New Players
- Don't put everything into one commodity early. Crashes wipe you out completely.
- Watch the price bars. A commodity near $2.00 is worth holding — a split doubles your shares for free.
- Dividends are passive income. Owning shares in commodities trading above $1.00 pays you every time the dividend action lands.
- Cash is a position. Sometimes the right move is to wait.
